About me

My name is Melike, I am 40 years old and live with my husband and our two children (4.6) in Berlin.

As a child I discovered the joy of sewing on my mother's sewing machine.

In the course of my youth, my mother (a seamstress) and my sister stood by my side with sewing projects. 

But school, apprenticeship and studies left me little free time to sew.

In 2014 my son was born and a short time later I realized how valuable this hobby was. I combined this passion with sustainability and quality fabrics because I wanted only the best for my child and the environment. When my son started walking, he no longer wanted to carry his great sleeping bag because he couldn't move around freely. Then I remembered the sleeping bag with feet that my mother had sewn for me. In my childhood we lived in an old apartment without heating and the nights in winter were so cold that my mother was afraid we would uncover each other at night. But there was no leg sleeping bag on the market that met my quality requirements. This is how my first upcycling sleeping bag came about and the desire to start my own business. However, I had to give priority to other things, and finally, of course, have the courage to be independent. In the meantime I have cycled up a lot of sleeping bags for friends, acquaintances, etc. The positive feedback from parents and children encouraged me to implement my plan.
